The Campaign: A Hand for Marco

Hello, I'm Marco Aurelio. I was born in Brazil with a "difference"—a congenital limb deficiency. While I prefer not to label it a disability, the reality is that I live without my right hand, having only a small portion of my arm below the elbow.

Today, I am reaching out to the global community to help me bridge a gap that hard work alone cannot close: the acquisition of a TASKA™ CX bionic hand.

The Challenge: A Global Economic Gap

Advanced prosthetic care is a marvel of modern technology, but it comes with a staggering cost. In 2024, a comprehensive quote from Arm Dynamicsestimated the total care at approximately $120,000.00 to $150,000.00 USD.

Why I Need Your Help

I work as a Senior Frontend Developer in Brazil. I earn roughly R$14,000 per month, which places me in the top 2% of earners in my country. I am incredibly grateful for this position; however, due to currency devaluation, this is equivalent to only about$2,400 USD per month.

Even if I were to save 100% of my income—ignoring food, rent, and taxes—it would take me over 60 months (5 years) just to reach the base cost of the prosthesis.

By the time I could save that amount, inflation and technological shifts would likely push the goalpost even further. This is why I am turning to the power of collective solidarity to make this life-changing technology a reality.

The Vision: Turning "Difference" into Art

This campaign isn't just about a donation; it's about a story. Inspired by my own journey with prejudice and resilience, I am developing a Cyberpunk/Samurai Superhero universe.

Our hero, X, mirrors my reality but discovers a bionic arm that blends advanced technology with the honor of the Samurai. This character represents the strength found in adversity — a theme I want to share with the world through exclusive art, apparel, and storytelling.

How You Can Support Me

1. Hire Me

The best way to help is to value my skills. I am an experienced Frontend Developer available for remote contracts in the US, Europe, or worldwide.

2. Collaborate with "The Hero" Art and Story

I am looking for artists and creators to help bring X’s world to life. If you want to contribute your style to the hero art, logos or story, let's talk!

3. Donate Directly

Every dollar counts. Your contribution goes directly toward the prosthetic fund, travel to the US for fitting, and the necessary clinical follow-ups.

4. Buy from the Shop (Coming Soon)

Soon, you'll be able to buy t-shirts and mugs featuring our Samurai-Cyberpunk hero. Wear the story of resilience.

Transparency & Commitment

I built this website to be a transparent ledger of my journey. I will record and display every donation here. Once the goal is reached, I will document the entire process—the travel, the clinical fitting, and the first time I move my new hand—via video for all my supporters to see.

Final Considerations

The "Hero" project and the shop are more than just fundraising tools; they are the beginning of a creative legacy that I intend to continue long after I receive my prosthesis.

Technical Insights & Transparency

Transparency is the foundation of this project. As a developer, I believe in openness—not just about the finances, but about the technology that will change my life.

Why the TASKA™ CX?

The TASKA™ CX is the world's first multi-articulated bionic hand that is truly waterproof. For a developer and creator, durability and precision are key.

  • Precision: Multiple grip patterns for typing and daily tasks.
  • Durability: High-speed motors and water resistance.
  • Integration: Advanced EMG sensors that translate muscle signals into movement.

The $170k Breakdown

The cost isn't just for the "hardware." High-end prosthetic care in the US (via Arm Dynamics) includes:

  • The Device: The TASKA™ hand and custom socket carbon fiber fabrication.
  • Clinical Care: Fitting, occupational therapy, and sensor calibration.
  • Travel & Logistics: International travel to the US and accommodation during the 4-week fitting process.

The Open Ledger

I am developing a public dashboard (coming soon) where every donation will be tracked. Since I am building this site myself, I will ensure that every dollar is accounted for.

"As a Senior Developer, I apply the same rigor to this campaign as I do to my code. If the goal is not reached or the project changes, I will communicate with every single donor via the provided email."

Upon reaching the goal, I will document the entire journey—from the flight to the moment I move the fingers of the TASKA™ for the first time.

Questions? Let's talk.

I am open to technical discussions about the prosthesis or the project. Feel free to reach out through the contact page.
